Found only in fiberglass pools and Spas. cobalting problems can develop, Cobalt is a metal that's used in the chemistry of fiberglass. Cobalt looks like little black spot~ or a black spider-web. In a spa, it can look like smoke around the air holes. Most people mistake cobalt for black algae. It looks almost identical.. Cobalt is hard and crumbly. Black algae is soft and mushy. If you smear black algae, there will be some green in it. You should use Cobalt Cure on a regular maintenance program.
